Robert “Bob” Long
Information:
Bob’s entire professional working career has been
in higher education and has occurred at the governing
body for higher education. It began in 1968 with the
Commission on Higher Education. His initial responsibility
was to implement the State Grant and State Loan Programs
which were passed by the Legislature that year. He administered
the State Grant Program until October 2003 when he became
Coordinator of the Educational Awareness Talent Search
Project. He has been affiliated with WVASFAA since its
formation and has come to appreciate both the close
camaraderie of the membership as well as the vital role
of the association in the success of higher education
in this state. He considers the commitment displayed
by Grant Program staff to accommodate the needs of families,
the Program’s integrity and his selection as President
of NASSGAP, the national organization for State Grant
Programs, as important accomplishments. |
